Topic: Emerging Leaders

Emerging leaders who are supporting their Directors, working within leadership teams, managing operations and leading small teams are invited to participate in a facilitated discussion about how you develop your skills to perform at your best, and what kinds of challenges you face.

As an emerging leader, you may be in a position where -

• you might not always have control, but you do have responsibility
• you can see the direct impact of decisions on clients and staff – and can sometimes (but not always) influence those decisions.
• you need to support Directors who may be under enormous pressure, support staff who may be having a difficult time, and somehow look after yourself at the same time.

How does that feel?  What skills do you need to manage in that environment?  How do you approach skill development?  What’s the mix between technical skills, management skills, and personal development?
