The State Library of NSW has been using artificial intelligence and machine learning technologies to make its digital collections of 5 million+ images more discoverable. Building on Jenna’s TechEx presentation given in April this year, this session takes a deeper look at how the Library has and is tackling this challenge using custom-built algorithms and a new Digital Collections interface, as well as experimenting with ways to continually improve this machine-generated data to make accessing the Library’s collections easier and more valuable.
